The Stay

Peaks that change colour with the light

The Sky View room occupies the first floor of the villa, set above the treeline with an unbroken view of the Himalayan range. The mountain-facing balcony is the reason people come here. In the first half hour after dawn, the snow peaks move through shades of rose and amber and pale gold before settling into the cold white of the day. It happens every morning, and it does not get ordinary.

The A-frame ceiling and skylight follow the roofline above the bed. The elevated position catches the last light of the evening, when the ranges turn purple and the valleys fill with shadow. A room for those who want the mountains to be the main event.
